Joe grew up in Shawnee and is a 1999 graduate of Shawnee High School. Joe received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma in May of 2003, where he was a member of the OU Scholars program, Order of Omega Honor Fraternity and numerous other campus committees. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University Of Oklahoma College Of Law in May of 2006, where he was a class representative, on the Dean’s Council, and a member of the SBA Board of Governors. Joe was admitted to practice law before all Oklahoma state courts in September of 2006.
Joe’s practice is focused on general civil and commercial litigation, corporate law, alternative dispute resolution, and municipal law. He is licensed to practice in the Oklahoma State Courts and in the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma.
Joe has served as the District Eight Representative for the Oklahoma Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Board of Directors from 2006 until 2012 as well as chair of its Community Service Committee and Children and the Law Committee. He served as Treasurer of the Young Lawyers Division in 2011, Chairperson Elect in 2012, and Chairperson of the Young Lawyers Division in 2013. Joe attended the 2007 Oklahoma Bar Association Leadership Conference, and was a delegate to the 2009-2010 Oklahoma Bar Association Leadership Academy. He has also served on the Board of Editors for the Oklahoma Bar Journal and is a member of the Pottawatomie County Bar Association and served as its President from 2007-2009. He is a member of the American Bar Association, and a Fellow of the Oklahoma Bar Foundation. In 2008, Joe received the District 5 Child Abuse Prevention Task Force “Child Advocate of the Year” Award. In 2013 Joe received an OBA President’s Award, and in 2014 the OBA Outstanding Young Lawyer Award. Joe currently serves on the Board of Directors for Gateway to Prevention and Recovery and the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce.
Joe is married to Carissa (Dies) Vorndran, a radiation therapist. The Vorndrans live in Shawnee with their sons, Jude and Conner and daughter Audrey.
